The Folksong SIG will be meeting via Zoom during the COVID-19 shutdown. The default meeting dates will be the second and fourth Sundays of the month from 1:00-3:00 PM. It's very informal and includes guests. It's run as a Zoomenanny, a hootenanny on Zoom. We go around a virtual circle, taking turns. During your turn, you can sing, recite, play, request a song, or just listen. If you choose to sing, I'm willing to accompany your song on keyboard or guitar. If you wish to participate, please email Alan Stillson at astillson@sbcglobal.net for details. |

2B3L We’re Baaack!!!! We’ll be there from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kathleen’s for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, Later, & Lingerers. Kathleen informed me that they have both indoor and outdoor distance seating. Your host (Michael and your co-host Beverly ) are both fully 2-shot vaccinated with CDC cards in hand to brag about it! :) So come on out, let’s get started on chasing our cabin fever away (For those who are from cold winters and know what that is in their bones!) We’ll de-Zoom our eyes. For us introverts, pretend it’s still quarantine, with someone else cooking and cleaning […]

11:30 am Address: 22400 Barton Road, Suite #1, Grand Terrace 92313. It’s time to meet in person in the Inland Empire!! Come and meet your fellow Mensans for a good old Sunday brunch. Woody’s describes itself as a down to earth restaurant with an old school feel and great eats. On Sundays, they serve breakfast until noon and lunch and dinner all day long. Since we will be sitting indoors in close proximity, please be fully vaccinated against COVID, or have previously had COVID, or have been tested positive for COVID in the past. Contact: Questions? Contact Joan Francis. This month we are going to Taix, the landmark French restaurant in Silver Lake that has been around since 1927. The property has been a topic of controversy over the past couple years as it is slated for replacement by a six story apartment building with a newly built Taix on the first floor. After people cried out to have the original building declared a historic landmark, the City of Los Angeles earlier this month decided to do that, but only to the restaurant's landmark bar and large red sign, thus clearing the way for the site's reconstruction. So come enjoy […] |

I know some people have been asking when this event will be back and hoping the pandemic does not permanently cancel it. We are back now, same hour, same fourth Sunday of the month, but with a new host. This month we are going to a favorite San Pedro eatery of ours. Raffaello's is a family owned restaurant with fine Italian food. They have a good selection of pasta dishes as well as veal. Raffaello's is located at 400 South Pacific Avenue, right at the corner of 4th street. If we get there at 5, there is plenty of parking in […] |
