We were going to go to Dominique’s Kitchen in July 2020, but then the second wave of COVID hit, so here we are going there in September 2021 hoping there is not going to be another COVID surge this month. Dominique is one of the better French restaurants in Greater Los Angeles, with a 4.7 rating on Google. The restaurant combines traditional French with a California twist and is not too expensive for the fare. This month we are going to Solidarity in Santa Monica for some fine Polish food. This is an old favorite of ours that used to be called Warszawa, and they have all the Polish classics- pierogi, borscht, noodles, various dumplings- cooked immaculately. 11:30 a.m. at Café Rio Address: 12560 Day Street, Suite C, Moreno Valley 92553 In October we will be trying A new Inland Empire venue. Café Rio has a nice selection of Mexican and Latin American foods, including enchiladas, tacos, burritos, chicken tortilla soup, salads and desserts. Their portions are ample. The big bonus here is that we can seat ourselves immediately with no wait for a table. The weather is expected to be pleasant, and we can sit outdoors on the patio, eat and enjoy the friendship and multi-topic conversation of fellow Mensans. Questions? Come celebrate Halloween with us at Mandovi Indian Cuisine in El Segundo. This place is known for having some dishes of the Goan region. Being on the coast, that cuisine features a lot of seafood, and also has a strong Portuguese influence due it being a former colony of theirs. Mandovi is at 150 South Sepulveda Coast Highway (used to be Sepulveda, now called PCH) at the mini mall just south of El Segundo Boulevard.
