“StaRGazing”
GLAAM’s Regional Gathering
Every year when conditions allow it, we conduct a weekend-long convention for GLAAM members and our friends from neighboring Mensa chapters. Long tradition within Mensa has referred to these events as “Regional Gatherings” or “RGs”.
We move into a local hotel, rent their meeting rooms to allow for speakers and games and hospitality, and set up a multi-track schedule of fun activities to keep you amused and stimulated all weekend! Hospitality typically includes a bunch of foods and beverages, most of which are covered in your registration fee, although some meals may involve an extra charge.
Each of our events since 1989 has been held over the Presidents’ Day weekend, to avoid conflict with the RG’s conducted by our neighboring chapters.
For the last several years, we have branded our RG as “StaRGazing”, as an ongoing reference to the times when we held our events in the Hollywood area.
